I replaced the power supply as my first option, but that didnt work either. In Device Manager, the external drive shows up as My Book 1130, and Device Manager says it is working properly… but there is no activity from the external drive (no vibrations, spinning, or fans), and I cannot access it with any method I know of… I have the most recent drivers, and have replaced the USB cord just in case, but nothing works…
WD’s solution is just replace it under warranty, but I JUST purchased this drive, and it died on me IMMEDIATELY after backing up all of my photos for the last 8 years to it, and reformatted my PC… “just replacing it” isnt really an option…
does anyone have anything else I can try?
