Hi there,

I am looking into getting a MyBook Duo 12tb and was wondering it is possible to connect multiple computer to access it like a NAS. There are two USB 3 ports, can they each be connected to 2 different mac pro simultaneously?

Also, if I remove one of the disks, plug it into a cradle to a pc, will it mount (assuming it is formatted in ExFat)?

Finally, are they hot-swappable?

No, it’s not possible. USB disks can only be accessed by ONE PC at a time. Even with a USB “switch,” only one PC can be active.

The USB ports on the My Book Duo are basically additional ports. Think of the Duo as having a built in USB Hub. They’re extensions of your PC’s USB port, they are not for connecting to other PCs.
