My Book 2TB auto filling up though backups turned off through software

This is odd and if anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it because I am seriously banging my head against the desk right now. 

I woke up this morning and noticed that my external was full. Strange I thought as it had around 350GB available last night when I went to bed. I went in and deleted stuff off it I don’t need, clearning way about 150GB free. I opened up windows explorer and noticed that it is literally counting down by the second…it is now 1.2 GB free. I have no clue what is going on here. I went in to the SmartWare software and made sure that everything was unchecked and essentially turned off and it is. Still sitting here watching it fill up and I have no idea what it is filling up with. 

Any ideas on this?

must likely the software is till backing up or another software perhaps

to stop the backup on Smartware click stop backup on the backup tab

check if windows backup or any other application is also backing up to the drive
