Managing Space on a Passport mixed with Win10 and WD Backups

I have a My Passport Ultra. Been somewhat confused since plugging it in. Near as I can tell, straight out of the box, the drive has the following folders:
bin ,Extras, File History, User Manuals, WD Apps for Mac, WD Apps for Windows.
Following installation, the folder WD Backup.swstor is created and it is in this folder that WD Backup creates its backup files. After Windows 10 was released, it seemed Windows Backup wanted to be in charge, so I used it instead of WD Backup because it offered the option of creating a disk image and WD did not seem to offer that. Now I would like to rely on WD but I’ve got files taking up tremendous space on the Passport.

I’d like to get opinions on what files or folders should be/could be axed with impunity, ie
/Windows10Upgrade and /WindowsImageBackup and /Owner-PC. I’m not sure I know what event created them or what purpose they serve at this point. What’s the best thing to do at this point? Should I just delete everything that wasn’t on the drive to begin with?

Hi CottonRLS,

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this.

The link below will allow you to call support.

A phone call to Technical Support helped me to free some 200MB of disk space by deleting the /Windows10Upgrade and the /WindowsImageBackup folder. When the drive gets closer to full, I’m hoping WD Backup will offer some options that, at present are not showing.

Thanks for the input.
