Linksys wireless router and wd drive testing to unlocked drive password

I want to connect a WD passport drive to the USB port of a  LINKSYS wireless router in order to do the following:

Using wireless connect my laptop and WD passport drive then unlock the WD passport drive by typing the WD passport drive password and then send and receive files between laptop and WD passport drive 

Is that possible. Has WD tested or certified any LINKSYS / CISCO  wireless router for my above mentioned requirement. Thanks very much

Hello,

Although this is not a supported procedure, you might be able to use the drive if you remove the security of the drive. 

I havent test that with your router. However, with the WD My Net, I’m able to use my Passport attached to it.
