Just out of curiosity

Just wonder I have a Terabyte external hardrive and I just curious if I could partition the drive so that I could have one that is NTSF and the other is SATA/ATA?

I don’t understand the question, NTFS is a File System… So it can be changed when you format the drive.

However, SATA is a physical interface to connect the drive to a computer (internally).

So the SATA drive can be NTFS, FAT32, HFS+, EXT3… Any format that you want.

But to change the interface is not possible as it is the physical place used to connect the drive to a computer.

Did you mean having two partitions in different File Systems? Like 1 NTFS and the onther one FAT32?

I hope it helps!

ya sure thats what if that works for you that works for me but as i understood it NTFS is a system that i recognized by pc and any other common electronic such as the PS3 and SATA is what mac recognized but whatever Can i have two partitions in different file systems

The file system for Mac is HFS+, SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) is a physical connector in the drive like this:

And yes, you can have two partitions in your drive with different file systems.
