I bought my passport ultra 1tb drive to use with a computer-run karaoke program. I was assured when I bought it that it was a plug-and-use kind of the item. But when I went to use it the first time, the installation wizard called for me to search the internet for software. I DO NOT connect my karaoke computer to the internet as I do not wish to risk a virus wiping out my entire database.
It seemed to work fine, despite the ‘error in installation’ messages, but there were a few glitches when the program tried to access the files on the passport drive.
When I searched the passport site for the drivers, it gave me a list of things that appear to be add-ons or extras but nothing that said ‘drivers’…
My questions are: Which of the downloadable files are required for efficient operation of the drive?
How can I go about acquiring/installing these necessary files without connecting that particular computer to the internet?
