I just bought a new WD 3T - Created Date?

I just bought a new WD 3T external hard drive.

Looking at ‘Info’ on my Mac, I see ‘created date’ September 20, 2012.

Sounds kind of old to me. Just got it from Amazon.

I am getting ready to format it for the Mac to use with ChronoSync.

I will be using this as my external drive for photos and genealogy to replace one that has been acting up.
This one will be backed up to another hard drive.

As a recommendation, create a case with the support department to check the information on the drive and warranty status.
