I formatted my new WD for my Macbook Pro but I regretted and I want for windows and Mac... How Can I do?

I formatted my WD for mac but I want for windows and Mac. I follow the instruction to format again but the doesn’t give me the option Master Boot Record only GUID or APPLE Partition. What Can I do? I don’t have windows to re do it for windows only.
Thanks

You may have to use a Windows PC to format the drive exFAT. Do Mac users have any friends with Windows PC? (Tasteles joke!)

hehe… i don’t hehe i might be able to use library. But If I format back then I can format for both? Thanks

The exFAT format is for both PCs and Mac so drive can be used by either. Many WD drives come formatted as exFAT out of the box.

Oh no my was compatible with windows only. well thanks I will try to format back for windows and them format again for both.
thanks

Just format the thing to exFAT and be done with it all.

ok thanks i will do it in the windows thanks

Download WD Paragon Driver for Mac. It will let you access read/write/format drive that format as NTFS or exFat, etc…as long as the drive is WD product.

It all depends on your specific needs:

1. If you mostly use it on Windows and occasionally on Mac

It is recommended to format the hard drive to NTFS (the default file system for Windows).By default, macOS can only read NTFS drives; it cannot write to or modify data on them.

Method A : First, open Disk Utility on your Mac, click “Erase”, and format the drive as exFAT (so Windows can recognize it). Then, plug the drive into a Windows PC, right-click on it in “This PC,” and format it to NTFS.

Method B: Install a third-party NTFS driver on your Mac. Once installed, your Mac will gain full read/write access to NTFS drives. Additionally, this software will unlock the ability to format drives to NTFS directly within Mac’s Disk Utility.

2. If you frequently switch between multiple Windows PCs, Macs, and other mobile devices

It is highly recommended to format the hard drive to exFAT. This is currently the best cross-platform format. Both Windows and macOS, as well as most mobile devices (like tablets or TVs), can read and write to it perfectly out of the box. It requires no extra apps or software and has no file size limitations.
