I cannot add anything to my drive

Hi,
I have a “my passport” ultra and have loaded it into my Mac. I can unlock the drive, but can not put anything on it. I have tried to drag and drop and there is always a circle with a line through it instead of a plus sign. any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

The Passport Ultra, unless the box says “for Mac” will be formatted out of the box for PC. That would mean that it is formatted “NTFS” for Windows. An NTFS formatted drive is “read only” on Mac which means you cannot write to it natively. You would need to reformat the drive in a way that you would be using it. Either on Mac only or for PC and Mac
