How to know passport's backup is still working?

I try to backup 300 GB from C: drive into password, but it only backup 140 GB yesterday, so I continue today at 11 am, the progress is copying files, but the size of total files are still 140 GB as same as last night, I would like to know whether smartware is working or not. The light within passport is not flashing at all.

I would like to try use Norton 360 for backup App. Can I only use passport’s data security features without using Smartware?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

You can use the software that you want on this drive. Smartware comes with the unit. However, is not mandatory for you to use that

I format my passport and copy and paste all backup files manually with no problem, but I would like to know on how to add password to encrypt my passport, after I format my passport, all softwares come with this HDD are gone, could you please tell me where I can download it?
