How to back up a mapped/share drive to my Passport

I am using WD Smartware 2.1.1 for My Passport Essential. I want to backup an optical drive from our AS400 that is mapped to my PC. This version of the WD Smartware does not present that drive as an option to be backed up. If I upgrade to WD Smartware Pro will I then be able to backup the share drive? 

The Windows 7 Backup also does not allow the share drive to be backed up.

SmartWare will not back up a mapped drive.  It doesn’t have any way to see the mapping.
