How do I prep my MyBook to use to backup my 2 MacBooks using TimeMachine?

I bought a MyBook about a year ago that was on a good sale and haven’t used it yet. I want to back up to MacBooks. It’s not a MyBook for Mac, so I presume I need to reformat it. Is that sufficient prep or is there another step I need to take?

You just need to reformat the drive to make it fully compatible with your Mac.
