My computer have now been runing the firmware updater program for over an hour. Nothing seems to happen? Is something wrong? Should I stop the update, and try again? Please help. I have the new My Passport Essential SE 1TB drive.

Have you tried contacting tech support about this? I would consider giving them a call.

Do you have only 1 USB WD drive connected?
Check to see if you have any other USB drives connected (flash or media reader).
Firmware Updater only works with 1 USB WD Drive attached.
