HD Preventing Win10 Startup or Not Recognized by New PC

Model 500001032-001

Got a new PC. When this ext HD is attached computer will not boot up/Win10 will not start.

  1. Disconnected all USB devices. Attempted to start computer. Win10 startup was successful

  2. Shutdown computer. Inserted one USB device and restarted the computer. Startup successful.

  3. Shutdown computer and inserted another USB device (this makes two that were installed). Attempted restart. Restart successful.

  4. Shutdown computer. I continued this process until had all of my USB devices installed except the (500GB WDC Ext hard drive). On each occasion startup was successful.

EXT devices connected by USB and working correctly:

    the keyboard
    the mouse
    a racing steering wheel
    racing pedals
    and a printer

  5. Shutdown computer. Attached the WD HD. Windows would not boot. Shutdown computer

  6. Disconnected ext HD. Restarted computer. Startup successful

  7. Connect 500GB ext HD to open USB port. Computer would not recognize HD.

  8. Disconnected 500GB ext HD connected it to my old PC (Win10 OS). It was recognized and worked fine.

  9. Disconnected WD Ext HD from old PC reconnected it to new PC. Computer still would not recognize it.
