Help! I ran all the diagnostics, twice. Here’s the summary:

Test Option: QUICK TEST
Model Number: WD My Book 1140
Unit Serial Number: [[DELETED - PRIVACY]]
Firmware Number: 1003
Capacity: 3000.56 GB
SMART Status: PASS
Test Result: PASS
Test Time: 21:20:37, October 19, 2016

So WD says the drive is perfect…but windows 10 says:

H: is not accessible.
The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable.

Three different software vendors (they all seem to be from China) want 69 bucks to fix. Money’s tight. Unemployed. etc. etc.

Can anyone give me a link to a FREE recovery s/w? I mean free to let me access all 3TB of the drive, not a free sample that let’s me recover 2 gig then wants 69 bucks to let me access the entire disk.

HI,
Did you update Windows 10 to the Anniversary update? Is the drive shown on your File Explorer? There are known bugs. One is that External Drive drivers are not installed.
Try using Restore to get back to previous version. Or someone was also able to fix it by using Restricted Mode on start up.
