From Mac to PC: WD MyPassport 1TB

hi, this is pretty urgent so a response would be greatly appreciated:

my WD My Passport 1TB was formatted on a Mac and I have a bunch of important files located therein and when I plug into my PC, I can’t access any of them.  I have a 500GB version and I do not have any problems with this.  Help, please!

Thanks

I’m not familiar with Macs but I think since it was formatted with a Mac it will only be accessible from a Mac. I think it would need to be formatted different possibly FAT32 to work on both. Reformatting will wipe out all data.

Try HFSExplorer:

"HFSExplorer is an application that can read Mac-formatted hard disks and disk images. It can read the file systems HFS (Mac OS Standard), HFS+ (Mac OS Extended) and HFSX (Mac OS Extended with case sensitive file names).

HFSExplorer allows you to browse your Mac volumes with a graphical file system browser, extract files (copy to hard disk), view detailed information about the volume and create disk images from the volume."
