Formatting My Book with 2 Partitions for Drive Clones

I’m trying to find out if it is supported, or even a good idea, to create 2 partitions on a 4TB My Book. I have an OS drive and a data drive. I would like to take regular images or make clones of both of them. Will this work? Should I use a separate physical drive for each one? Any help or advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I use multiple partitions with My Passport. I think it should also work on My Book drives. Be sure to use partition names that describe the data you are backing up.

Look up your My Book in Knowledge Base to find which software to use: Wd Smartware (old) or WD Backup. They both have Help tabs which define their operations.

Thanks. That helps. I was actually considering 3rd party software for the partitioning and images/clones.
