I’m very happy with my clip but there’s one thing about it I’m not keen on. It’s the way it lists music by mp3 tag data rather than file structure. When I copy folders of mp3s onto my clip I expect to be able to access those folders on the clip, but instead it seems to totally ignore the file structure and just goes by the tag data of each mp3 in order to categorise them. This can be a nightmare if you’re trying to play a compilation you’ve made yourself, as the genre, artist and album for each mp3 is completely different and therefore they all show up as seperate in any category. I suppose you could just “play all” but if you’ve got proper albums on there aswell they’d obviously be played at certain points during your compilation. I could always painstakingly edit the tag data of each mp3 in my compilation but I don’t really wanna have to do that.
Is there something I can download to change it so that it lists the folders just like it does on my hard drive?

Ah ok, thanks for the info. It’s a great little gadget though.
I love mine…use it every day, and sometimes my Fuze also in the same day
The developers are aware that a lot of people would like folders, and they are at least looking into it. I’m no programmer, so I don’t know if it would be tough to implement or not, but it’s nice to know they listen to what we have to say.
I’ve only had my 2gb clip for about a week and on Sunday I listened to it with my Sennheiser HD201 phones (I notice you have them aswell) for 8 hours non-stop. lol… I’m surprised though (considering I use headphones which need more output than earphones) just how long the little battery lasts. It takes a couple of hours to fully charge and plays for at least 12 hours. The sound quality is great too. Bearing in mind I got it for £18 (brand new) from Amazon, it’s a total bargain. Love it.
Nice to know they’re looking into giving us folders.

I got my 201’s from Amazon too. They don’t necessarily use more power than the little earbuds, I don’t think. It’s only if you have to turn the volume up louder to get the same volume levels. At least that has been my experience with them. You should look into a Fiio E3 or E5…those headphones sound better with a little extra power running into them. I first realized it when I hooked them into my home stereo one day. Also, a wall charger is a good idea for the CLip…it charges a little faster than the computer, and the screen shuts off after a few seconds(maybe that’s why it charges faster?) Glad you’re enjoying your Clip!
For my compilation I just made all the mp3s the same album (Various Songs 5) and now it appears as one album on my clip. Very handy in the absence of folders.
