Firmware Updater Not Working - EssentialElite_FirmwareUpdater_v2.010(1.0.8.3).zip

I just got the My Passport Essential SE 1TB drive.

SmartWare software (v1.4.1.1)
Firmware Revision 1.008 (according to SmartWare)

The SmartWare software says I need an update.

It said step 1 is to update the firmware.

I downloaded EssentialElite_FirmwareUpdater_v2.010(1.0.8.3).zip

The only USB device connected is this drive.
However, when I run the firmware updated it scans for a drive and returns with:

Please disconnect all USB devices and connect only the WD drive you want to update, then click Rescan.

I click rescan, but it just comes back to the same message.

Any ideas???

The the My Passport Essential SE 1TB drive I have is USB 3.0 + USB 2.0.

Here is the answer I got:

… the firmware updater we have only applies to the USB 2.0 version of the My Passport Essential SE with SmartWare. There is no firmware update for your drive…
