How can I reset to factory setting using a manual procedure?
I cannot reach the device through the software as it does not find it.

This drive does not have that feature
if you reformatted the drive and when to get back the applications that come on the drive you can download the software from our website.
the software will not communicate with the drive if the drive is not detected.
Make sure your computer recognizes the drive
You are on the My Book for PC forum, this applies to all My Book models, but network drives. To reset the My Book you only need to reformat it.

Actually the reason why I want to completely reset my MyBook live is because I cannot find the driver in my network.
I can reach it from the Web but not from the network.

you can press the reset button for 4 seconds to reset back to default
try to access the drive by typing \drivename
