The problem I am having is when my WD external hard drive is: when it is contected to the docking station there is a humming noise and it seems like the HD is trying to spin. Then after a few humming noices it stops and nothing happened. My HD is not showing up. What could be the problem?
What type of docking station are you using to connect the hard drive? Have you tried connecting the hard drive directly to the PC or using another USB cable? You can also try to open the disk management window to see if the hard drive is recognized there.
