Encountering a Blue Screen of Death during boot from an external hard drive.

Hello everyone, I’m new to this forum and would appreciate your help! I recently formatted a Western Digital Elements portable hard drive, and ever since then, it seems like whenever it’s plugged into my computer, I get blue screens. Could this be because of the hard drive? How should I go about fixing this problem, or is it something else entirely? Thank you for your assistance!
