Dropped Drive

I dropped my WD external drive, and apparently bent my prongs. Does anyone know where I can purchase replacement prongs or have any tips?

USB cables with power for 3.5" hard disks are inexpensive

USB boxes cost more depending on features

Use a micro USB 2.0 cable. The smaller right-hand section of the plug that is mostly damaged is for the USB 3.0 bus. The wider section on the left side provides communication for USB 2.0 speeds and provides power. The drive will operate, but not at 3.0 speeds, so transfer rates will be slower. If the drive was dropped, consider copying all files off of the drive and onto a new one. Also, that kind of damage may have weaken the solder joints for the plug, so be very gentle when inserting a cable and try not to wiggle it until your files have been recovered. Being rough will only make matters worse.
