Drive only formats to 930Gb. But is supposedd to be 4Tb.

The heading gives most of the problem. It was bought at Wal-Mart as a 4TB SSD with USB connection (std to micro).

It first started with an WD app installation and then formatted to 930Gb!

The usable info on the back of the drive couldn’t be found on the SSD lists.
One is close, to a listed (Model) number as opposed to P/N: on the drive.
Following is how the info on the back is listed in order;

4924B R/N: D8B EACF JA
S/N: WX42D 14ENZ73
P/N: WDPKJ0040BBK-0A (your documents show WESN instead of what I have listed)
Please help! This is a REAL WTF for me.

@Ulrigjaeger WDPKJ0040BBK is a WD My Passport 4TB HDD not SSD.
Suggest to post in the WD Community for HDD inquiries. https://community.wd.com

Well that explains part of it. The paperwork etc. that came with it were not clear.
Thank you!

Now maybe I’ll be able find out why not the memory advertised. Ta ta.

It could be a fake, or someone may have returned the product with an older drive inside.

What does CrystalDiskInfo report?
