Drive not detected

I have a “WD My Passport Ultra”. When I connect this to my laptiop, I see the harddisk running (the light for the harddisk is on when I connect it to the laptop). But the drives are not detected. I have very important data in it. Please help me solve this.

Hi,
You can find detailed instructions on what to do in the WD Support area. Open the Visit Topic screen and find the Support Tab at the top of the screen. Select My Passport and then Ultra. Select the instructions for your Operating System and the follow the instructions.

I went to the place you suggested and what I found said that if windows wasn’t recognizing the drive that it must be defective. I know it’s not defective because it works on another computer.

Well then, I hope you have put as much of the backups on the laptop as you can.

Search around the Knowledge base for guides in checking the PC not recognizing the Passport.

Maybe you should alsocontact MicroSoft for help.
