I was a fool and didn’t check this before I bought them both. Alucardx23, I have found that you’re correct and the drive is too thick for the case. Can you recommend a suitable alternative case?
For anyone else who is wondering, this case does not fit My Studio drives, or any My Passport 2TB drives. Nor does it have a holding space for the cable.

YES, it FITS.
I have tried two methods, both of them work:
- Just remove the rubber stickers from the top case, get a scissors and cut the small leftover protection ledges/saliences, just like the one I’m holding in the picture below (forget the piece of plastic stuck to it).
This was the way I did at first because I haven`t understood the pictures in the manual.
Then after a while I just figured it out, leading to option 2! :)
- Get a knife or another pointed object and remove the piece of plastic which I’m holding in the picture below. This will make room for you to replace it with the spare rubber protectors which came with your case. So, in short, you are just removing some cm of plastic which makes the whole thing thiner.
Ps.: of course you can reuse the same rubber protectors stuck on the piece of plastic. Just remove then carefully and re-stick them.
This case costs £20 (very expensive) & is suitable for WD My Passport Studio portable drive:
