I mean a software that mirrors it in functionality. The features I need: a password lock on the access point (so whenever you plug it in a phone or laptop, you have to enter that password), AES encryption and optionally, encryption that scrambles folder/file names and hides their thumbnails.

I highly doubt WD would know, or even care as they would probably just question “why not just use PrivateAccess?”
An easier approach is to use disk-management programs, which can save you from trial and error. By default, Windows BitLocker encryption is available on Windows Pro, Windows Enterprise, Windows Pro Education/SE, and Windows Education.
However, third-party disk-management software can also enable disk encryption on Windows 10 Home Edition. (Related how-to: How to Enable BitLocker on Windows 10? Windows Home Included )
Using the program mentioned in the post above as an example: if the partition on your USB flash drive, HDD, or SSD is formatted with the NTFS, FAT, or FAT32 file system, you can use the software to encrypt and decrypt the partition with a password.
