On my very old media players, I cannot read correctly disks connected at USB, larger than 2 tb.
I would like to use 2.5" x 4tb, cheaper by tb and more usefull.
Any one has experienced media players able to access 4 tb via USB, with or witout partitions ?
Hello there,
Normally if the media player is really old and has not gotten an update of any kind for this then it’s could be very difficult to make it work.Newer ones should have no problems with this.
Thank you Till now, no dealer could offer me a streamer accessing a 4 tb, without partitions. One dealer of XTreamer, told me that the Android on his new model cannot read 4 tb, but will read 2 partitions of 2 tb.I couldn’t verify it and the manual don’t detail this issue. Therefore I search someone who had already verified the possibility
My … Raspberry Pi 3 and Android Box (Amlogic S905X)
Both read my 4TB My Passport Ultra USB3.0 HDD (Formatted NTFS and 1 Single GPT Partition of 4TB)
perfectly fine and without any problems ![]()
As I know , Rasberry Pi 3 is a small computer. Is it right and then why have you mentioned it ?
The Amlogic S905X specifications:
http://www.inexbox.com/amlogic-s905x-processor-specifications/
- do not explain about the fonts and languages of the subtitles
- do not include the Blu-ray formats, like bmdv
I have tried to find the full user manual, but didn’t manage.
Has a it a simple menu usable for everyone ?
Raspberry Pi 3 can be used for Many things …
I use it a Media Player with KODI installed (Open Source Home Theater Software) and it’s Great ! for all my Movies/TV Shows and 4TB Hard Drives ![]()
Your original question was regarding “Disk Drives Larger than 2TB and Media Players”
To which, i answered.
Thank you.
People with a little experience in computers. using a small computer/laptop
and a free software player, will have no problem.
But for unexperienced people, sophisticated software players are not a good
option.
They need an streamer with a simple menu.
Raspberry Pi 3 with KODI is very simple to use … my 77 Year old parents use theirs everyday without any problems … they even have a 4TB HDD which works great for them ![]()
It’s not a question of age. Windows is just much complicated that Xtreamer
menu.
Try to change fonts to an esoteric language in Windows. At Xtreamer it’s
very simple.
Have never ever had the need to or any reason too.
Well, Xtreamer and XP have something in common … they simply can’t read hard drives over 2TB.
Look, good luck shopping around for a New Media Player … Hope you find one that does everything and is simple and basic for you to use.
Bye.
