Disable WD Unlocker

Cannot use Time Machine to do periodic backups because it says device is not available. Then I have to force eject the drive and disconnect. I reboot. Then plug in the drive, use the unlocker then I can do a backup NOW.

I want to get rid of the stupid unlocked. What do I need to do to accomplish that?

You have to remove the security from the drive.

Please share the model number of your drive so I can provide specific instructions on how to accomplish this.

Just install the WD security utilities and use it to remove the password to remove the locker.

Thanks. Actually WD called me and helped me get rid of the lock. Works like it’s supposed to now.
