Did My Book Duo Completely Fail?

I bought the RAID drive a few months ago and from the start it would disconnect when my computer fell asleep. I thought I had it fixed, but yesterday I woke my mac up and there was about 10 notifications saying my book duo disconnected… now the drive fails the WD Utilities diagnoses, and won’t mount in mac disk utility (I can see it). When I look at RAID management in WD Drive Utilities it says
RAID status: Data Loss Detected
Drive 1 status ; Failed Drive failed. Replace this drive immediately.

Drive 2 status: Online

Do i just need to replace Drive 1?
Can I take Drive 1 out and back up what is on drive 2?
Sorry, these might be nub questions, but this is my first time having a RAID system.

Hello,

Please refer to the following KBA article: My Cloud: RAID Online User Guide and Solutions

I just dont know about this. I have the my book duo 12tb in raid that i have sitting protected on the shelf unplugged disconnected and i plugged it in to load more stuff onto it and after i fire up the Discovery program, i can see the other 4 WD ext drives and access these no problem, but as soon as i click on this drive it locks everything up. This was a replacement drive from a brand new hd. I haven’t used this in a year.
