Did I damage my Clip Zip?

A few days ago I connected my 2 week old 4gb Clip Zip to my Playstation 3 for the first time to charge it. The system recognized the device so I thought nothing much of it. Half-hour later I unplugged the Clip Zip and tried to turn it on; no success. I did the troubleshooting steps in the manual, but no avail.

Left it alone for one day, all prepped up to be shipped back to the retailer for a replacement. I decided to give it one more chance. Pressed the power button and it turned on, battery depleted, but on. It’s working now.

My concern is did I unintentionally damage the device by connecting it to my PS3?

No, what most likely happened is cycling the power on the PS3.  If a Clip is left plugged in to the USB port, sometimes when powering down and restarting the computer, I have frozen the device.

Simply reset the Clip by holding the power button depressed for about 15 seconds, release, then it wil power up normally.
