I am brand new to this WD Community. I have an older WD Passport and recently started using it again. It denies me access to many files but others no problem. I do I gain access to all my files?

You probably need to take ownership of the files and/or folders.
I have a My Book 4TB. Ever since formatting my boot drive and installing Windows 10 I can no longer create folders or copy files to the root of the My Book. I can deal with that as I can copy new files to sub-folders already created.
I also cannot rename the drive. The current drive name is “WesternDigital 4TB”. I have tried the admin. account in Win 10 and every bit of knowledge I have amassed since building PC’s since 1980 and nothing has worked. The error msg. is “You do not have sufficient rights to perform this operation.”
