I partitioned my hd into 3 pieces, one of which is somehow corrupt and that volume is most important. Disk utility acknowledges that it exists, but wont let me access it. it reccomends that i back it up and restore it. thats great but how do i back it up when it will not mount. im running mac os x snow leopard.
I don’t know much about Macs but maybe TestDisk http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk will fix the damage.

This is my error from first aid
yup, you corrupted the drive. you can try test disk, but i think it only works on windows. you may need to find a mac utility that can restore a partition. otherwise, you can simply repartition and format the drive.
