I have tried to clone my internal 1tb c: drive to a 1tb My Passport drive and ACRONIS starts to calculate the time it will take and then asks to restart the PC. After restarting I see nothing is going on. I tried this several times. Anyone have the same problem or ideas?
You might try the Acronis forum they are good about helping. If you are trying to clone the external to have a functioning OS on it you are probably out of luck. When I make an image with Acronis I always boot from the CD.
