Clip+ will not charge and is not recognized by windows media player

I have had this player for several months now with no issues. This week when I plug into USB port it shows it’s charging, but the battery is not holding the charge. Also, it is not being recognized by windows media player any longer. I tried resetting it and also tried various USB ports on my pc (front and rear). When I tried resetting it via the power button, it simply says “battery low, shutting off.” Any thoughts?
