I backed up files from my old laptop (a pc) and am trying to transfer them to my MacBook. I have a WD MyBook Elite. Smartware doesn’t see any files, but on the home screen, it says “No writable WD Smartware partition found”. I have some important files on this thing that I need to transfer onto my MacBook…please help!
Hi, you see the “No writable WD Smartware partition found” because the my book is not formatted for Mac, if you want to transfer the backup to the Mac just copy the backup folder manually, is the one that has the name smartware.swstor inside the my book. But to save files from the Mac to the My Book you need to format it and of course that will delete any information in it.
