Can't access mybook

I have a 1TB MyBook that is around 6 years old. I thought that I had a virus of some sort on my computer a few weeks back and ran the Kaspersky Rescue Disc to take care of the issue. Kaspersky had been scanning my Mybook for 24 hours so I went ahead and stopped the scan.

Now the hd doesn’t initially appear at all on my computer until I click on it in the mydevices section. After I do this, it appears as local disk G in the windows explorer area where my drivers usually appear. If I click on this, my computer freezes up and I have to shut down windows explorer. At this point, my internet no longer works either until the moment that I shut it down. I’ve attempted to run command prompt, nothing. I’ve tried the wd diagnostic but can’t get it to find the hd. I’ve tried easy recovery software, but I can’t get it to work without paying for the upgrade because I have a lot of music, movies, etc on the hd. I would really like to recover all of my files at the least, if not fix the drive. I did not backup the drive unless it does it by default. Any help would be great. Thanks.
