Can’t turn on my passport wireless pro. Connecting via usb doesn’t work

Sam as topic. When turning the device on it blinks rapidly with all leds, I cannot reset it or upgrade firmware. When connecting via usb, hdd led is on (still) but nothing happens. There is no device mounted, nothing in disk utility.

Is there any option to recover data or fix this?

If I will send device for warranty replacement will they care about the data?

Sounds like a RMA candidate.

No, I don’t think they will work to preserve data.

You probably can remove the drive from the device, and see if you can put it in a drive enclosure.
This would probably would void the warranty.
My Wireless pro doesn’t have screws visible. . . .not sure there is a sneaky way to pull it apart without it being obvious it was tampered with.

Yea, taking the drive out will void the warranty. Also I suppose it’s encrypted so i won’t work.

Opening the case itself is pretty easy, but you just need to be careful. I wrote to WD, let’s see what they will do about it

No.

Warranty Policy states that WD are not responsible for lost data.

When you send a hard drive in to WD for a warranty claim, they will replace it with a new or refurbished device … so, your data is gone for good.
