Surely this product is not platform dependent? It is not encrypted, so it doesn’t support password protection, which means it doesn’t require SmartWare or a WD/SanDisk tool. It comes preformatted for exFAT, so that would exclude some legacy operating systems, but it would still be usable after reformatting.
Am I misunderstanding something?
I think that some phones and TVs may write to the drive, or automatically reformat it, so that may be a concern.
