Is bigger better like a 16gb or large sd card? Is there anything special (outside of class rating) in a micro ssd card for the CLIP +?

Bigger is better, if you need/can use the extra space. Usually that answer is yes. 
The only thing to note is, the bigger (capacity-wise) the card, the longer it takes the Clip+ to rescan the contents (which happens at least when you add or remove anything from the card). But I think that’s a small price to pay for the extra capacity.
