Doing my part for the economy, I bought a 2nd clip (for my wife) today, the local Walmart had plenty of the 8GB Clips in stock for $49.
We can share the Rhapsody subscription since it allows up to 3 authorized devices.

Congratulations! In the CNET Cheapskate blog, the writer keeps on posting deals on other players: the Shuffle, the Creative Zen. Each time, I add a comment about this great deal on the Clip.
On what planet is the Shuffle a good deal?

When apple gives them out to use for Target practice or to use for batting practice… if you can hit a shuffle you can hit a ball.

Reatively speaking: the refurbed 1gb silver Shuffle was available for $29 shipped. I agree: still not a deal, apart from as jewelry. Much better the Zen: $19.99 for a refurbed 2gb player, with small OLED video-capable screen.
My 4GB Fuze, last fall, was the same price as a 2GB Shuffle…and it’s cheaper than that now. so maybe I’m biased
There is something about the word… Refurb that rubs me the wrong way. Im sure they are fine players but for my money… I want something new.
I agree, and I would not have a problem with that if I were buying it from SanDisk or from the manufacturer in specific situations , but I dont trust the “Outlets” or 3rd party distributers of This kind of stuff. I will buy new items from places like newegg but I try really hard to stay away from refurbs.
