3 tb elements portable?

Hey!
I just received my exchanged WD elements 2TB Portable, and when I plugged it into my computer it said it’s 3TB. I tried several computers, windows and mac, both said 3 TB. I am a little bit confused because there is even no 3tb version of the elements portable.
I am not complaining at all, i am just interested in how this could happen.
