My “My Book Duo” turned its drive #2 LED red today. The manual says, I need to replace that HDD with an “exact” same model. The model I’ve got there is wd20efrx-68euzn0, but searching online now I only find wd20efrx with no “-…” part at all. Does that mean they all are compatible?
Actually it worked out in an interesting way. I bought 2 WD20EFRX drives,
i.e. not a perfect match to the original WD20EFRX-68EUZN0 drives. I
thought - I’d try, if it doesn’t work, I’ll replace both. If it does work,
I’ll have a spare one for when the other one dies too. That was the only
model I could find in all online shops I tried. When the drives arrived
and I opened one of them, its model was WD20EFRX-68EUZN0. Replaced,
rebuilt, working.
