1TB Passport SE laptop Recognizes It And Memory Is Being Used However My Files Are Missing

I am currently deployed in Afghanistan and believe my assault pack took a bad hit. My hard drive is recognized by my laptop, it shows the memory is still used however my files no longer show. I tried copying the folders because they show as well and it takes forever but finds the files but will not copy them to another hard drive. Its all my itunes so I am dying here without music this deployment. I have tried other USB cables other USB ports and am at a lost. Any assistance and advice will be greatly appreciated.

If the drive got banged around it may be damaged or corrupt. Can you try a different computer preferably a desktop?These drives are extremely sensitive to voltage and many computers have wimpy power supplies.  WD does make a Power Booster cable that might help if it’s siimply a voltage issue. If the drive is still in warranty contact WD and they will probably send you one. You can try some recovery software like Recuva  http://www.piriform.com/recuva Good luck
