OK, that confirms that, but the .18 version is a stable one, where the .24 can be a bit buggy. I never updated my v1. I left it on .18 and everything’s fine. Others have even reverted back to this version.
As I said, I think your problem lies in the corrupted files and is not a firmware issue though, so running ChkDsk and/or formatting it should solve it.
