Sansa Clip alternate headphone jack placement?

I like where the headphone jack is on the Clip. If an angled headphone plug blocks the volume buttons, then insert the plug with the the cord going up, and the buttons won’t be blocked. The placement of the headphone jack on the Fuze really annoys me though, as I need to disconnect the headphone to be able to reach the release to disconnect the data cable from the player. I would prefer to keep the headphone connected all the time to have less wear on the headphone jack.
