[ Edited ]

Bought a Kingston 32gb class 6 from ebay... pretty sure its a fake given that..

- the packaging was open

- the text on the card is kinda worn and not aligned

- ran a card tester app on my smartphone called SDTools which gives you manufacturers name etc from the card, this one didnt have the name..

- the speeds of that test were 2.5 to 3 MB/s WRITE and ~16 MB/s READ

The other info that this app gave me:

Name:

OEM id:

mid: 0x000000

Serial: 0x0000177c

Firmware: 0x0

Hardware: 0x0

I compared this with results from a 2gb Samsung card that came with my phone:

Name: 00000

OEM id: SM

mid: 0x00001b

Date: 09/2010

Serial: 0x2160df10

Firmware: 0x0

Harware: 0x1

Following are my results with H2testW on 240mb.. but what do they mean?

Warning: Only 240 of 31980 MByte tested.
The media is likely to be defective.

ebay is the LAST place I would buy a 16 or 32 GB card from, especially if it ships from China. Far too many reports of counterfeit cards (lower capacity cards hacked to appear to be higher capacity).

Unfortunately this Australian based seller had 100% positive feedback at the time of my purchase and had sold the items before with no complaints. My guess is a lot of people don't have a clue so it might be worth approaching everyone that bought the cards previously to check if they're legit.

Here are some images of the cards (I bought two!grrr) and the tests are below. I ran the H2testw on the whole card. It took a few hrs. Looks like the card is really only a 2GB card???

Re: test your microSD(HC) card's actual transfer rate with this free utility and post the results he

It's always best to test your memory card's speed using a PC instead of a smartphone because the smartphone's memory card interface may be a bottleneck. If your phone's upper write speed limit is, for example, around 3 MB/sec, that's the best you're going to see in a write speed test that's run on the phone, regardless of the memory card's maximum write speed. If your phone is a limiting factor in write speeds, then it may not be worth paying extra for a faster memory card. However, if you frequently transfer a lot of data (e.g. movies) to your phone from a PC and are willing to remove the SD card and insert it directly into the PC (typically with an SD or USB adapter), then a faster card may be worth purchasing.

The memory cards sold on EBay are frequently not as fast as claimed. For example, there are a lot of "Memorette 32GB Class 10" card for sale there, but I have tested several of them and their write speed is just a little more than 5 MB/sec.

Not bad at all, considering I've never even heard of the company that made this card.  Dane Elec.  It's an 8 GB card I got for my new digital cam.

I just bought the exact same card yesterday and tested with build-in SD card reader of a laptop computer using same app you were using. Writing speed is faster than yours: 9.20MB/S. Reading speed is slower: 13.4MB/S.

I purchased a "32gb Class 10" Microsd from a seller on eBay.  It looks exactly like the two from the picture in the posting from "nemac" on 3-18-2011 above.  Strangely, I received an email from eBay cancelling the auction because of  suspicious seller activity.  Anyway, I denied the charges on my credit card and forgot about it.  Well, yesterday I received this "Kingston 32gb Microsd class 10 with adapter" from China and tested it with H2test 1.4 and here are the results:

It appears to write at (almost) class 2 and there isn't 32gb of space, more like 1gb.  I'll reformat and rerun the test again and get back to you.

Re-ran the test and here are the results:
