lost everything sansa e250

i formatted my e250 when i clicked to begin format my computer stopped recongnizing the player, and the display kept running the sansa and rhapsody logo.  i went to the sandick website put the player in recovery mode down loaded and ran the recovery file to format the device, after accepting the terms the next screen said device in recovery mode and ready, i clicked continue and received an error message  "ERROR!  application failed to read the version details"  when my computer found new hardware if opened a window 16MB Format (FSmiley Happy   there is a text document named version, thats the only thing in the window.  when i double click on the document is says version Info: Product  Rev:  and a whole lot of leters and numbers.
i hope somebody can help the player is useless, no screen with menu just the sansa and rhyapsody logo continuously on and off.  its kinda like wen you turn the player on

I had the same problem.
It may seem a little far-fetched, but this does work.
Upgrade your firmware with the Sandisk utility afterwards.
