I bought a new Sansa View 32GB and a 16GB-microSDHC-Card (also from
SanDisk) and have 3 problems with it:
1. The User Interface freezes sometimes while playing music. Music keeps
playing, but I cannot skip songs/adjust volume. I always use the
"play-all/shuffle"-mode and have like 5500 songs on it. Sometimes it
recovers after a couple of seconds/minutes, sometimes I have to restart
the device. Very annoying.
2. It scans the database each time it is switched on, although I haven't
added/deleted any songs. Scan takes like 20 Seconds.
3. The status of the battery is not displayed correctly, it is very low
when switched on. After a while it displays the correct status.
Already tried a RESET on the device, with no effect. Also a format and a reset to factory defaults.
Will there soon be a new firmware? I have the latest installed 1.03.02.

i have exact the same problem with my 32GB Sansa View. I'm also using the latest firmware and the sansa hang up some times during play. It's boring!!
I hope that someone from SanDisk is reading this forum and will support all of us angry sansa users with a properly working firmware. And i hope this will happen soon.

Well consider yourself lucky! At least yours finally starts. I just went back to 01.01.06 firmware to at least get it to work better.
I have a 8gb view with a 8gb sandisk card and with latest 2 firmware updates there were times it wouldn't even come off of the sandisk screen or at least take ten minutes!
Here I thought I didn't want a IPod, now I know I should have paid the extra for one. At least their products work, I just hate ITunes.

If shuffle playback over all files isn't recommended then I consider the View unfit for purpose - currently the player is back at Sansa for 'repair' to the freezing - if it comes back and freezes while shuffle playing all files, I'll have to go into battle over a refund - pity because when it works, I really like the Sansa View.
